Non-Standard Studio
Craftsman and former physicist Marcus Jacka founded Non-Standard to create handcrafted innovative contemporary designs, using traditional methods.
Marcus and a small group of talented colleagues create each piece in Non-Standard’s workshop, set in an inspiringly beautiful valley on the edge of the North York Moors. Each Non-Standard item is brought to life from individually sourced wood, imbued with the unique characteristics of both material and craftsman. There is a purity of geometry and spare lightness to Non-Standard designs: balanced, simultaneously contemporary and quietly timeless.
Non-Standard Studio’s superior technical and artistic craftsmanship and original designs have an established national and international client base. In addition to Non-Standard design pieces, we closely with like-minded architects, interior designers and artists, creating bespoke and responsive designs for both private and public spaces.
